To All LVST Volunteers/Families:

Thank you to everyone who has so diligently signed up for their minimum requirement of 6 volunteer positions. We appreciate your time and energy.

Unfortunately 6 jobs per family just isn’t enough to fill all the jobs we have this year. We have fewer families than years past so our estimate per family fell short. If you can, please sign up for a few more jobs – whatever fits your schedule. You’ll be at the meet, so why not volunteer, right?

This coming Sunday we are in need of a few more positions for Time Trials!

  • 1 Time sheet processor (training is available) – desk job with a good view
  • 1 Timer/Recorder – poolside fun at the heart of the action
  • 2 Set-up assistants – get your job done then relax at the meet
  • 4 Snack bar helpers – lots of action here and good food
  • 1 Safeway shopper for snack bar – get your assignment completed before the event and enjoy the day
  • Sign Up!

    Thanks,

    Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve forgotten what I signed up for. How do I get that information?
  • Go to the website under Volunteers and click on the Sign Up button. Then follow the instructions to review your jobs by entering the e-mail address you provided when signing up. You may also request that your assignments be emailed to you.

  • I need to get out of one of my positions. What should I do?
  • If it is more than one week from the event/meet, go online and sign up for another assignment so that you still have a minimum of 6 positions. Then contact the Volunteer Coordinator at mswim@lvst.org with the position you need to be removed from. An email will be sent to confirm your new assignment. If its less than one week to the event/meet, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

  • I don’t know who to call to find a replacement?
  • Go to the Volunteer Assignments page on the web site [Volunteer -> Volunteer Assignments.] Here you will find a listing of who is assigned to volunteer positions for each event/meet. Use this as a reference for calling someone to replace you – contact information is there too.

  • What happens if I don’t show? Or I’m significantly late?
  • Missing work assignments and even being late for swim meets seriously and negatively impacts the team. A strict “Late Arrival/No Show” penalty of $100 will be assessed.

  • My schedule does not allow me time to volunteer. What can I do?
  • You can pay a volunteer opt-out fee of $400. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at mswim@lvst.org with your request to opt-out. Payment arrangements will be made at that time.

  • I only have a High School swimmer(s). How many volunteer positions should I take?
  • Parents of High School swimmers (those swimming on a HS swim team and will not participate on the LV team until May/June) are required to volunteer for 4 positions.
